Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mass Spectrometry Service Engineer specializing in Sciex equipment to join our team in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of Sciex mass spectrometry instruments, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities and Duties:
The employee at this position is expected to perform the following tasks (but not limited to):
- Install, maintain, upgrade, repair and service mass spectrometry and chromatography equipment.
- Provide highly visible customer support by performing or supervising on-site activities on electrical and electronic equipment and systems (including but not limited to: installation, commissioning, operation, inspection, testing, calibration, adjustment, maintenance, diagnostic, troubleshooting, service and repair).
- Set up and operate specialized and standards test equipment to diagnose, test and analyze the performance of electrical and electronic components, assemblies and systems.
- Take action to resolve problems with the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs)/customers.
- Provide familiarization training and guidance to customers/end users, to instruct them on the basic operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of their systems.
- Complete service-related activities and records in compliance with the established procedures.
- Travel: Travel within the assigned territory and occasionally beyond for on-site service activities. Up to 30% travel outside the coverage area for help and training is required.
- Any other task judged relevant for the position.
Qualifications:
The employee at this position must have the following skills:
- Language: English
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, Biomedical or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in field service, specifically with mass spectrometry equipment. Experience with Sciex instruments is highly preferred.
- Transportation/Travel information: Driver’s License required.
- Work conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, work under pressure, tight deadlines, attention to details, standing for extended periods, ability to lift up to 30 kgs.
- Work location: On-site customer service, various locations.
- Personal Suitability: Organized, team player, values and ethics, client focus, effective interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, excellent written communication, initiative, combined multi-disciplinary experience. Working carefully and with great attention to detail; good problem-solving skills.
- Additional skills: Technical sales support, accurate inventory management, timely attendance to customers calls, timely closing of service tickets, schedules, and reports.
- Area of Specialization: Repair, Service, Install, Upgrade and Maintenance for Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry systems. Instrument Qualification is an asset.
- Computer and Technology Knowledge: Instrument software; Microsoft products.
