  • Full Time Field Service Engineer

    Job description:

    Zef Scientific, Inc. requires a Field Service Engineer to perform services, repairs, maintenance, installations, and upgrades for laboratory equipment. This position focuses on Liquid Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry instruments in the following industries: Biotech, Pharmaceutical, Medical Diagnostic, Academia, and Cannabis.

    The candidate shall bring ZefSci hands-on field experience with the latest Liquid Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry technology, specifically focusing on Agilent, Shimadzu, and Sciex brand equipment. The ability to handle escalation calls and troubleshooting skills are important aspects of conducting high-level repair and maintenance for this specialized analytical equipment.

    This worker shall be based in Mississauga, Ontario, and will require travel to onsite locations to service our clients in the surrounding metropolitan Toronto, Ontario area with occasional travels to London Ontario.

    Service our clients in the metropolitan Toronto, Ontario and surrounding area and occasionally London, Ontario for repairs, maintenance, installations, upgrades, and support for LC/MS instruments.

    Provide training and guidance to laboratory end users and troubleshoot these systems when problems arise.

    Job Requirements

    Languages: English

    Education: College//CEGEP

    Experience: 6 years or more

    Transportation/Travel Information: Travel expenses paid by the employer, Public transportation is available, and Willing to travel

    Area of Specialization: Testing, Troubleshooting, Installation, Repair, Installation and Services of Mass Spectrometers, Medical Equipment Sizing.

    Computer and Technology Knowledge:   MS Windows

    Equipment, Systems and Control Experience:

    • Medical and biomedical equipment and systems
    • Installing Refurbished Mass Spectrometers in pharmaceutical companies and Clinical Research Organizations
    • Providing training and guidance to laboratory end users and troubleshooting these systems when problems arise
    • Providing Agilent, Sciex and Shimadzu brand equipment support and training to other Service Engineers

    Provide Agilent brand equipment training to other Zef Sci Service Engineers servicing the metropolitan Toronto, Ontario surrounding are with occasional travels to London, Ontario.

    Specific Skills:

    • Install, maintain and service equipment of Sciex, Agilent and Shimadzu brand.
    • Assist in inspecting, testing and adjusting electronic parts and components;
    • Calibrate electronic equipment and instruments.
    • Conduct or supervise the installation, commissioning and operation of electrical and electronic equipment and systems,
    • Set up and operate specialized and standards test equipment to diagnose, test and analyze the performance of scientific instruments.

    Environmental working conditions:

    The work environment can be quite noisy because of laboratory equipment. Workers are provided earplugs

    Terms of employment:

    3 years work contract
